May 2008 - 5th Annual Teton Valley Community Clean-Up
Silver Star Communications is gearing up to host the 5th Annual Teton Valley Community Clean‐Up on Saturday, May 17th at 9 a.m., rain, snow or shine. This year’s event will be held in conjunction with the City of Driggs and its Arbor Day Celebration. Residents can help clean up the trash that has been uncovered from the snow melt, and then enjoy a BBQ lunch, live music, raffles, and socializing with friends. Read full news release.
May 2008 - Caring for Community Donation Recipients
Wednesday, April 23rd, several local non-profits gathered to receive their donation checks from Silver Star Communications. Each year, Silver Star accepts applications in January for its annual giving program, Caring for Community. This program enables the company to look at the community’s needs as a whole for the year and make a larger impact then if it were to address individual donations throughout the year. April 2008 - Uncommon Sense Leadership Program
Silver Star Communications has applied and been accepted as one of the Yellowstone Business Partnership’s 2008 UnCommon Sense program participants. The UnCommon Sense program focuses on teaching businesses leadership for a sustainable future. While Silver Star has always and awill continue to focus on treating our customers and employees well, the company also realizes they have another level of responsibility, and that is to the communities it serves. January 2008 - Caring for Community Donation Deadline
January 18, 2008 is the deadline for applications for Silver Star Communications’ Caring for Community donation program. Caring for Community is an annual giving program that provides funds to community non-profit organizations. January 2008 - New PCS Towers
In the 4th quarter of 2007 Silver Star PCS completed construction of three wireless cell towers: two in Jackson Hole and one in Smoot, Wyoming. The first on Snow King Mountain will provide enhanced CDMA coverage in the town of Jackson, providing better coverage from Highway 22 and Broadway (“The Y”) west to the Moose-Wilson Road junction. The 2nd Jackson tower, located in Squaw Creek, will extend coverage to southern end of Jackson Hole from Rafter J towards Hoback Junction. Additionally, Silver Star is currently working to install a tower at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Silver Star currently has a tower located on the mountain, but the additional tower at the base will improve “in building” coverage at the base. The third tower will provide coverage to the Smoot area in Star Valley.
